Asked by LadyG420 Jun 04, 2019 at 10:20 AM about the 2001 Chevrolet Malibu FWD Question type: Maintenance & Repair I have a 2001 Chevy Malibu and I've changed the thermostat and the water pump and the car is still overheating slightly what else do I need to change or check to get this problem to stop please helpI have a 1997 Chevrolet Malibu with a V6 231 engine . It has an overheating problem. The coolant and coolant thermostat have been replaced. The electric cooling fan does not turn on when the engine starts to reach its normal operating temperature. I have to turn on the air conditioning so that the two electric cooling fans by the radiator turn on.I have a 99 3.1L M (140,000) It started over heating so i noticed the coolent cap was missing the seals so i replaced the cap which helped alot. I replaced the thrmostat and the water pump. Now the fans wont work at all.
