I bought 3 of them when they first came out, with custom serial numbers. I also helped some of my friends get theirs ordered with custom numbers as well.I have a James River Armory M14 I would like to sell. Well, I took the plunge and ordered a LRB receiver James River Armory M14. I happened to be in Baltimore so I called JRA and stopped by before ordering. LRB and Bula are generally considered the best builders of forged receivers. A good M14 is as reliable as an M1. I would say a Springfield M1A falls in that category. I am with the others here: take advantage of Springfield's warranty and don't change a bunch of parts out. My personal M14 is a JRA, with the receiver made by Bula.

I have yet to see good clear photos of the JRA welded USGI M14 heel. REN.I took off my walnut handguard on my JRA M14 and replaced with a fiberglass one. I was taking my time firing my M14 but I saw a bit of smoke billowing from the had guard so I thought my hand guard was burning. I used the hand guard clip removal tool and took my walnut handguard off.
