When I got my 30S I posted a side by side size comparison (dunno if it was in this forum or another) with the 30s with the 9rd mag and the 10rd mag compared to my G26 and G19. The difference with the 9rd mag is incredible. It's only roughly 3cm taller than the G26 (eyeing it not actually measured).

A 30s makes a lot of sense to me. 10 rounds with the stock mag (pearce mag grip recommended) and 13 round G21 mags for the range or as a backup mag. According to Glock the 30S was designed for the LAPD's SIS and my understanding is they use 230 grain +P HST's in all their 45s. It would make sense to me to run the same ammo.
