I just upgraded my Ecobee 3 thermostat to the latest Ecobee 5 and noticed this peculiar thing happening. Basically, with my current temperature setting on a Hold temperature (different from my regularly scheduled set point temperature) and I manually turn on the circulation fan, the thermostat overrides that Hold temperature and runs the thermostat based on the scheduled temperature instead.
