Depending which way I point the barrel, the serial number is either 68999 or 66689. The second is a .32 topbreak w/hammer serial 142298.

The only H&R that can be dated by serial number are those made between 1940 and 2008'ish(whenever Remington took over). Serial numbers mean practically nothing on pre-1941 H&R guns.
