Also a lot of people are using bowfa because they probably don’t have t bow. As others have mentioned, it's because the range defense and prayer bonus is more then arma. I did crystal armor with tbow for the added range defense.Full Crystal Armor + Crystal Bow and ranged accessories has an effective Ranged Accuracy Bonus of 243. Full Arma + T bow on zulrah after T bow's passive has an effective accuracy of 250, meaning full Crystal + Cry Bow is basically equally as accurate as T bow. There is a difference in DPS, but idk how to calculate it since T bow is 1 tick ...

At Zulrah with accessible other gear and full crystal armour, bowfa is 7.2 dps and crystal bow is 5.9. RCB with diamond bolts (e) is 4.4. ... RCB zilyana, and loads other content without bowfa. Owning crystal + masori is a bit strange for a main especially without even the bowfa, but if you were an iron you wouldn't suggest "getting rid" of masori. If Iron then I'd suggesting grinding until bowfa. If main then sell the masori and use it to buy bowfa, then save all the way up for tbow and after that pick up the masori again.

Slightly lower DPS by like 0.2 (with a fury, with an anguish blowpipe outshines bowfa without crystal armour by 0.6 dps) but still good. Hard to account for missed shots from BP while moving from spawns, which should lower the dps slightly. Depending on the situation the blowpipe can be better than bowfa, even with rune or ammy darts. On bosses that you can proc ruby bolts the rcb is insanely good dps for how bad of a weapon it is. For everything in between a normal crystal bow with the armour set does a decent job. There are options if you look for them

crystal armour+bowfa will be better than masori and blowpipe at most places. Once you get Bowfa, I’d say masori isn’t worth it until you get a t bow. Masterclass. It seems more consistent in getting kill credit in a mass, but overall seems like it does less overall damage than a crossbow with rubies. If you're just shooting for a few mass KC to get your feet wet, bowfa is a nice way to do it. The extra attack range helps, too.Bofa is better. Zcb and buckler with dragon rubies. Seems like for speedruns tbow is better but for consistency bowfa out shines. You can get pretty insane times with tbow (I have a 1:30 pb with tbow) but with bowfa you're getting more consistent 1:50-2:00 times compared to tbow which can sometimes take up to 2:30-3 minutes.

I used it for my d pick grind at chaos ele. Went with black d hide and it performed acceptably. Not worth using without the crystal armor brother.
