KOTOR 1. It makes more sense in light of Kotor 2's world and atmosphere. A Republic on the brink of collapse, Jedi nearly extinct, the Sith running loose, etc. all fit perfectly with the DS ending of Kotor 1. Granted, Kotor 1 sets up that the Republic is in trouble, but it's mainly due to the fact that the Sith have an endless fleet.
