I am also a long time Verizon customer and miss those days when we could upgrade our phones every 18 months or so for very discount pricing. I do feel your frustration. However, earlier this year, I was able to take advantage of an upgrade pricing on the Iphone XR. It was $300 off at the time, no unlimited plan required or no new line required.
