PF9 Extractor Issue Resolved. My PF9 started to exhibit the famous FTE problem we have read about on this forum. I called KT and they sent out a new extractor, spring and button screw on their dime. I found the original button screw a bit loose so that was probably the reason for the FTE I had suddenly come across after about 100 rounds.
Guns like the Kel Tecs, small Beretta's, etc aren't really intended to be detail stripped except for parts breakage. Until I discovered the Politcal Forum I never realized how much the specific gravity of the human brain can vary from individual to individual. 0.15 to 22.0 seems to be the range. You will see the assembly pin highlighted in the big rectangular slide cut-out. 3) Hook rim of case into top of assembly pin, while keeping pressure down on the area beside the pin. 4) Slowly WIGGLE out the assembly pin.Wipe down all the areas you scrubbed, with a clean cloth. Scrub the exterior of the pistol frame with a toothbrush and a small amount of solvent, then dry it off with a clean cloth. Apply a small amount of gun oil to a clean cloth and wipe down all external parts of the P3AT. Kel Tec sent an extractor kit, which did not help. I bought a second magazine and tried different ammo. Had a range officer try it ....It still did not work.

It’s been more than three years since I first reviewed Kel Tec’s diminutive and now somewhat infamous PF-9. My review from November of 2010 was quite favorable, and the PF-9 was my carry gun for the next year. When I was shooting my PF9 at the range the disassembly pin came out and was sheared off by the slide.
