Wanted to get everyone's thoughts: 1. Plan installing myself, how hard on a scale of 1-5 with 5 being, take to a professional to install. 2.The C6 Z06 shifter does not have short throws like an aftermarket shifter. It's in between stock and aftermarket, as far as throws (a little closer to stock), but it's very smooth and quiet. Good luck. As mentioned, the box is the same for both C5 and C6. May 11, 2011 · Once you have used an MGW for a while, and then drive a C5 with a stock shifter you will be amazed at how spongy feeling the stock one is. I have only used a stock C5, stock C6, Hurst, and the MGW shifters but out of them my preference is the MGW - and by a far margin.
