MD/DOs have a much higher ceiling average-wise than Pods, Dentists, Optometrists, PharmD, but they are also working 50-60 hour workweeks for the 200-250K. If you are a DPM and want to practice podiatry there isn't much add-on value to getting a DO and quite a financial burden goes along with it. If you find that podiatry isn't your thing and want to practice in a field that is enterred via having an MD/DO (paraphrasing the above) then it might be worth it, though financial burdens still apply …

Most of the programs I externed at are in the list, and my opinion varies widely on the strength of the programs listed that I visited. Times change and residents/residencies change.
