I recently purchased a new 4T lectron Carb for my spare DRZ400SM. First off it took weeks to get as they were waiting or their new, must have billet throttle tubes. Finally got the carb, looked awesome, install was very easy. It fit better than the OEM carb and we wont even compare fit to an FCR....I have been looking for reviews about the latest Lectron Gen 2 carb for the DRZ400SM but i've been seeing mixed reviews. KLX 400 Kits. These are made to replace the DRZ 400 style CV carburetor. If your model has an FCR 39 from the factory, you will need a DRZ 400 S air box adapter and intake manifold. You should not need to remove the float bowl on an FCR carb to remove the fuel screw. It must be hung on the spring or it got turned in too tight at some point and the o-ring is mashed and that may be gripping it. Be careful as there is a spring, a tiny o-ring and a tiny flat washer that are part of the assembly.The MX is just there to make the most power it physically can. It'll be thirsty but will lift the front easily. As mentioned, the suspension and sprocket setup make a big difference.
