I might switch to TradeStation if the fills are decent. Ninjatrader is also down right now - they had acquired Tradovate, and seem to be using their systems on it. So you can switch, you'll get the same problems. edit: you can look up their service status page, it'll basically match Tradovate's.

I use Sierra Chart and Stage 5 now, it’s cheaper with same style membership and you do not get problems. If you don’t mind learning a new software that takes a while, it is way better. Candles do not lag at all, ever.

You can code forms. They have object oriented Easy Language (their proprietary platform language). They have tablet app for trades. They have a web page you can trade. They have a web api (haven't used it or know if its any good). Tradovate is a very good choice. I have used tradovate for several months now. I like the dome and charting. I do wish there were more options availability on the charts and I hope they will come in the future. Pricing is very competitive and customer service is excellent. If you don't tie your orders to 1 tick data or use high fill resolution, your backtest will be wildly different than reality. If you use 1 tick data or high fill resolution, you will be closer to reality (it's pretty good)--I would still visually validate there aren't data issues though, as they do happen (you know it when you see it on the chart).
