Oct 5, 2014 · On a 99' 379 pete, the speedometer is not connected to the ecm directly. Works off of the mag senson on the back of the trans. and dip switches set the ratio. If you got a speedometer problem, check or replace the speedsensor on the back of the trans., Check the wires from there to the speedometer in the dash.
The outside air temperature sensor is mounted to the bottom of the driver's side mirror. The problem is likely a faulty sensor or a poor connection.
