Replaced it. 6 months later- alternator died - replaced it (replaced battery too) 2 weeks later - alternator died again - replaced it with DENSO brand. 2 weeks later - alternator dead for a 4th time. Today it's sitting at 150,000 miles.Open the hood and inspected the area. Sure enough the alternator is off center/tilted. Removed the belt and and the lower mounting bolt was out a bit. Tried to tighten it but it won't. Just kinda tighten but then let go. What I was afraid of has finally happened to me. BTW, depending on how loose the positive cable was, that could have caused failure. on the good testing already.
