The 1301 costs more and you probably see the added value somewhere. I'd like to see a professional do a side by side comparison and cover ease of use, cycling speed, weight, loading, etc. I think they both cycle very fast. The 940 to me seems to cycle even faster than a pistol. Basically 8 rounds in 1 second.
When it was over I still would take the heavier M4 . The lightness of the 1301 and harder felt recoil made it slightly longer to get back on target. The Benelli M4 is physically a better built gun, I have simply never held a better built shotgun than a Benelli M4. I still don't see a lot of 1301s. They didn't really do a much better job with their ready out-of-the box gun than Benelli. The 1301 still needs the same work as most factory shotguns. With that said the 1301 is a very well built, very well assembled gun and I can't find anyplace that they left anything lose or not centered properly. The 1301 Comp is a standard frame, the 1301T is not. It feels tiny in the hand and largely negates needing an SBS. For comparison, a Benelli M4 14" SBS with fixed stock is longer than a standard 1301T with Magpul stock. That's the magic of the 1301T, not the gas versus recoil operating systems.Benelli M4.
