Good balance between fantasy and realism. My favourites are the more realistic-looking sets: iron, steel, plate (except helmet), Dawnguard heavy, guard/Stormcloak, Nordic carved. Scaled, Wolf, Orcish, Blades, Dwarven (except helmet), Ebony and Daedric are good. I like most early-game light armour sets (fur etc.) except leather, which is trash.

Dragonscale is the best light armour. If you have AE or the armours from creation club then madness armour is the best heavy armour and daedric mail or amber is the best light armour probably amber because the daedric mail lacks a helmet IIRC. Best is relative. At higher levels, I can wear anything and hits just bounce off me.
