There's one that lists the number of head gasket failures of CF members by year. It's not scientific, but the trend shows that the '98 and '99 are/were the worst.But the engine started burning a quart of oil every 1000 miles and this went to a quart every 500 miles at about 110,000 miles on the car. The Northstar is a POS IMO, my 84 Corvette with the the 5.7 liter pushrod burns no oil and runs like a clock at over 90,000 miles. Stay far away from a used car with the Northstar engine.The Aurora's 4.0 L V8.
