While I don't know anything specifically about NC State, I do know that, just because you get into vet school, it doesn't mean you are guaranteed to get your DVM. Professors are allowed to fail students, and several per year at other vet schools are either held back to repeat a year or drop out all together. Thought of a few more. I grew up showing horses around the country and have gained a little over 500 hours shadowing equine vets in the past 8 months.
